Screendance | 2018

Presented by The National Center for Choreography at The University of Akron and Dance Film SF

 

JULY 8-18, 2018

NCCAkron and Dance Film SF (DFSF), with lead support from the Akron Civic Commons, created Dancing Lab: Screendance in July of 2018. This lab brought together two teams of choreographers and filmmakers for an intensive creation process, shooting and producing dance films along Akron's Towpath Trail. “Chrysalis” was created by choreographer Nicole Klaymoon (San Francisco, CA) in collaboration with Tigre Bailando (Philadelphia, PA) and Micah 'Just Jamz' Abbrey (Los Angeles, CA) and filmmaker Morgan Wise (Los Angeles, CA), with Think Media (Cleveland, OH) on production. “But First…” was created by choreographer Mike Esperanza (Brooklyn, NY) and filmmaker Erin Brown Thomas (Los Angeles, CA) with Red Point Digital (Akron, OH) on production.​
