KEVIN LEE-Y GREEN

Kevin Lee-Y Green is a director, choreographer, and community arts educator. Green is a native of Bolivia, North Carolina (population 143) and a graduate of the University of North Carolina School of the Arts where he studied contemporary dance and ballet.
 
In 2008, he founded Techmoja Dance and Theater Company as an inclusive and diverse dance and theatre company. Kevin has recently done residency work with youth in nine coastal Carolina counties in response to the impact of Hurricane Florence.
 
His work has been supported by New England Foundation for the Arts, Alternate ROOTS, Arts Council of Wilmington, International Association of Blacks in Dance. Techmoja embodies Kevin’s vision as an artist by creating a space where those who may not be apt to contribute to the public conversation verbally can do so physically and visually.

More recently, Techmoja expanded its reach by collaborating with a variety of partners and presenters to create greater exposure to the arts, especially among urban and rural youth of color.
