Experimenting is at the core of all that we do. In the programs outlined below, we invite artists to exchange knowledge and to try something new. We get excited every time we can offer artists space, time, and resources to play without the pressure of producing anything.

DANCING LABS

process-oriented laboratory environments where dance artists come together to rigorously play and explore.

CREATIVE ADMIN RESEARCH

a national think tank of up to 20 dance Artist Teams to investigate alternative administrative practices in support of their discrete artistic visions.

RESIDENCIES

unique residency experiences, in the studio or a theater, co-designed by the Center with individual artists/companies.

IDEAS IN MOTION

a curated series of working choreographers with access to space while also augmenting the curriculum of The University of Akron’s School of Dance, Theater, and Arts Administration.
