Dance as Cultural Diplomacy | 2019

In March 2019, Dancing Lab: Dance as Cultural Diplomacy highlighted the strength of Israeli dance as a national pastime and asked questions around its influence on American choreography as well as how national identity informs dancemaking. NCCAkron convened Israeli and American artists like James Graham (San Francisco, CA), Ariel Freedman (Tel Aviv, Israel), Dr. Hannah Kostrin (Columbus, OH), and Deborah Friedes-Galili (Tel Aviv, Israel) to meet, learn from each other, compare notes, and share their experiences with audiences through panel discussions, films, and masterclasses.
