About the Event
The National Center for Choreography (NCCAkron) will host a work-in-process showing of Flamenco artists Angelina Ramirez (Tucson, AZ) and Carlos Menchaca's (Albuquerque, NM) research into their upcoming work, 'The Spider, The Venom, and the Bitten'. This work is an experimental approach to creating flamenco to discover alternative building processes at the intersection of tradition and innovation combining technical virtuosity and contemporary research. They will be working with local musicians to further develop the score of the work.
This working rehearsal is free and open to the public at the University of Akron's Guzzetta Hall.
Angelina Ramirez was supported by NewMusicUSA’s Organization Fund in 2025-26.
