NCCAkron’s multi-year Creative Administration Research (CAR) program aims to challenge the dance ecosystem to think beyond the boundaries of known, traditional models.

In 2022, all current Artist Teams — comprising choreographers, administrative leaders, thought partners, and NCCAkron team members — were invited to Akron, OH for a weekend of programming around creative administration to exchange experiences and accumulated working knowledge.

Recordings of the CAR Summit Convening Opening Plenary – Artist as Model for the New Socioeconomic Normal, with Marc Bamuthi Joseph (Washington, D.C.) and Christy Bolingbroke, and Closing Plenary – Money, Mindset, and Motivation: Where Artist Meets Enterprise, with Elena Muslar (Ontario, CA), Antuan Byers (New York, NY), Indira Goodwine-Josias (Boston, MA), Makini (Durham, NC), and Rosie Herrera (Miami, FL), were released as special episodes of the Inside the Dancer's Studio podcast.
